Of course, always ask your doctor first. When you get a body piercing it's recommended that you use "sea salt" and soak it a few times a day to heal the opening. "Sea salt" is just an expensive name (in my humble opinion) for Epsom Salts which you can get for less than $2 at Wal Mart. Good luck!

This is a common surgery, especially for men who shave, the hair follicle begins to grow in the opposite direction,( under the skin) and then becomes infected, after bathing or washing make sure all soap is rinsed off with a mild solution of salt water and then dab with diluted solution tea tree oil, make sure there area is kept clean at all times, and try not to touch it, if possible use latex gloves, as your fingers touch so many things they could transfer germs

keep area clean and dry and quit touching the area. Do not use any ointment due to the fact it will open incision sites

Ingrown hairs are very common amongst men and women who remove hair regularly.

Did you try any ingrown hair treatments before resorting to minor surgery? Tend Skin, Priva Shave, Kalo IHT and Ingrow Go are all popular treatments for ingrown hairs.

Surgery is an extreme and invasive solution to the problem and would of course leave an open wound. Ask the surgeon what is best to aid in repairing the wound.
