What happens if you just leave an ingrown hair?

For girls...when you shave your bikini line and you get those really "big" ingrown hairs that are somewhat easy to "pick out"...what happens if you just leave it alone?

Will the bump get even bigger until you have to pluck it out? Will the hair underneath just "disappear"? What happens to the hair trapped under?

I am asking because I have an awful ingrown hair that I cannot get to under my skin...i dont want to dig into my skin, it is too sensitive. Will it ust go away?

It does not just go away. It can develop into a painful abcess (pus filled bump) if not taken care of, also, the hair will continue to grow inside, causing more pain. If you are unable to get the hair out, you should consult your physician.

i wouldnt just leave it. it might get infected and on your bikini line thats definantly something you DONT want. i say just suck it up and pluck it out. it might hurt at the time but it will feel a lot better after.

Thats happened to me before and I just couldn't get it out. I left it and it got pretty bad I wish I had gone to the doctor for it to get it taken out, but eventually the hair popped back out and I could pluck it out. I would say go to the doctor if it gets too bad and have them take it out for you.
