Can you get an ingrown hair a while after shaving?

I shaved my bikini area like a month ago and now I have something coming up there. It feels like an ingrown hair. I've had one before but, not in the same spot and that was a long time ago. So is it possible that it is a ingrown hair even though I haven't shaved there in over a month?

Yes it is very possible that it is an ingrown hair. I would apply a warm washcloth to the area. Make sure you wash your hands and do not "mess" with it. Keep an eye on it and if it is not gone in a few days I would consult your doctor. I am a nurse and it sounds like it is just an ingrown hair.

Just kiddin but sometimes it is irresistible.

Can you get an ingrown hair a while after shaving?

yes you can because new hairs are growing in all the time. Hold a warm wash cloth over the area for awhile or soak in the bath tub. that should make the area of the skin soft enough to be able to squeeze the ingrown hair out, it is painful but that should help.

Yes! I especially get them if I haven't shaved in awhile. I don't like ingrown hairs, ick!

Here is the info your looking for at Wikipedia.org:

Ingrown hair is a condition where the hair curls back or grows sideways into the skin. It may or may not be accompanied by an infection of the hair follicle (folliculitis) or "razor bumps" (Pseudofolliculitis barbae). While ingrown hair most commonly appears in areas where the skin is shaved (beard, legs), it can appear anywhere.

Yes, you could still have an ingrown hair going on there even though it's been a month since you last shaved. I would recommend getting in touch with your dr to find out if it is an ingrown hair.
