i have some ingrown hair in my underarms. its like a couple of bumps and i can see that it has hair trapped in it. its not swollen or anything though. can i just break it open so i can pull out the hair?

You need to put a warm, not hot, washcloth over them and when it gets cool, run it under warm water and hold it over the area one more time so the hair follicles soften and the hair will rise to the surface. Then, you just take tweezers and gently pull the hair out from under the bump and eventually the swelling will go down and there will be no more ingrown hairs :]

If it does...it's really hard to take out hairs with a mirror. Get a friend or mom, rubbing alcohol, clean tweezers, and a clean, unused needle.

Ask for one at the drug store for 'taking out a splinter', and get a 25 gauge [ size ] if you can. This will be sharp enough and fine enough to pick out the hairs with a minimum of discomfort.
