How can i take out my ingrown hair?

i have some ingrown hair in my underarms. its like a couple of bumps (which are dark, by the way) and i can see that it has hair trapped in it. its not swollen or anything though. i barely noticed that there was hair underneath the bumps. i just thought they would die down in time, but no it hasn't.

so can i just break it open and pull out the hair? i don't want to leave a scar or something because the bump itself is dark already.i need help. thanks so much!!!

If it isnt too deep, you can use a sterile needle (boil, or use rubbing alcohol) to break it open and GENTLY pull the hairs so they are no longer buried under skin. Once they are out, use tweezers to pluck them from your skin. Oh, and thoroughly wash the area FIRST before you do this, and you should be ok!

Avoid applying deodorant/antiperserant antil the hole is healed to prevent scarring.

I would see a doctor if I were you. If that is out of your budget, do what templeuvluv said... except I would get someone to help you.

I had to break open the skin once for an ingrown on my stomach. It didn't leave a mark, but it was hard to do it. I could see the hair growing along underneath the skin line, so I broke it at the base of the hair and yanked it out.

If it is a really big problem, and you do not want to break the skin yourself for fear of a scar, infection, etc, I would go see your doctor. They may be able to recommend a safe way for yanking all future ingrowns.
