you should have went to see the doc first as an ingrown hair can be potentially very serious, if it hasn't gone away in a couple of weeks you should go and see one.

hopefully it would go away in a few weeks to a month.

That was a no no see a doctor

It should just go away in about a week or so. If you're concerned put a little antibacterial ointment (neosporin) on it at night.

you dont need to see a doctor. first of all you should never pick at it. it just makes it worse. you might also try not shaving there for a while it will irritate it. and apllying some heat to it for about 30 minutes several times a day will also help. youll start to notice, trust me. be sure to keep the area clean. it might not be such a good idea to use deodarant or anything else that will irritate it.

Use a hot cloth and rest it there every night that should help it go way. When you get an ingrown hair it is best to use a hot cloth to rub in the direction it grows..it relaxes the body and it will soon fall out on its own time..

Regardless you should still see a doctor. My best friend thought she had an ingrown hair, so she picked it and the infection grew worse. After going to the doctor and getting tested, she turned out to test positive for Herpes and that happened to be her first outbreak. Please go to a doctor, just to be on the safe side.
